Emergency Medical Services Information
Escambia County Emergency Medical Services has its own internal training center, which provides AHA ACLS, PALS and CPR training to the employees at no cost and to the general public for a minimal fee. The training center coordinates with the web service Target Safety for continuing education credits. This year our training center started providing Critical Care training for employees to sit for the Critical Care Paramedic national test.
EMS is actively involved with our local high schools and colleges providing preceptors for the Paramedic, EMT and First Responder programs and has a volunteer auxiliary program consisting of 25 individuals who are either Paramedics or EMTs who ride to gain valuable experience as a crewmember on one of our ambulances. Auxiliary members participate alongside our employees at public service and community events.
