Escambia County Nursing Home and Adult Living Facility Generator Plans
Per the Florida Governor’s Emergency Action Sept. 16, 2017, the Agency for Health Care Administration and Department of Elder Affairs were tasked to create emergency rules requiring nursing homes and adult living facilities to develop and execute a plan that will include the installation of generators that will ensure current licensees of nursing homes and ALFs will be equipped to ensure ambient temperatures will be maintained at 80 degrees or less for a minimum period of 96 hours in the event of the loss of electrical power.
The following emergency rules were created:
- 59AER17-1 Nursing Home Emergency Power Plan; and
- 58AER17-1 Procedures Regarding Emergency Environmental Control for Assisted Living Facilities
Per 59AER17-1(5) and 58AER17-1(5) “The county shall post all approved facility emergency management [generator] plans to their website within ten (10) days of the plan’s approval.”
This webpage seeks to fulfill this requirement. The following are plans that have been determined to be consistent with the referenced emergency rules as produced by AHCA and Department of Elder Affairs.
