The job interest card is a benefit to job seekers to be able to submit their interest for a specific position or a category when a specific recruitment is not open.
The job interest card will notify you when new job openings in your areas of interest are announced.
When a job interest card is submitted by a job seeker, the JIC process checks the next morning to see if any open postings/categories exist where a JIC notice has not yet been sent to an job seekers who submitted a job interest card either by class or category.
The JIC does not need to be submitted by an job seekers before the job is posted/opened. If a job was posted yesterday, prior to 4:30 am Pacific Time, JIC submitters for the recently opened job will receive notices at 4:30 am the following day.
Job interest cards are NOT sent for postings on the promotional page (only for postings on the main job opportunities page).
Job interest cards are active for a 12-month period. At 11 months, job seekers are sent a notice that their job interest card will be expiring in one month and are given an opportunity to renew their job interest card for another year. Every email that is sent to job seekers regarding job interest cards includes a link that allows job seekers to unsubscribe if they no longer wish to receive job interest card notices.
