Mission Statement


The Office of Purchasing supports the functions of the county operations by providing procurement services and processes that meet all state statutes and county ordinances in the completion of quality acquisitions and contract. Our primary mission is to perform the centralized procurement function for all board of county commissioner's Agencies and Departments to obtain the maximum value in service and commodities for the tax dollars expended. Additionally we provide a meaningful link to the business community, promote honesty and integrity throughout governmental operations and promote intergovernmental cooperation.

FY 2017-2018 Accomplishments

  • Finalized the award documents for the largest public works project in the county’s history, the new Escambia County Correctional Facility, for an approved total of $132,445,243.
  • Instituted a new vendor registration system that streamlines the quotation process and provides for SBE/MBE supplier identification. 
  • To increase transparency, worked with the IT department staff to create a new online purchase order viewing system which allows the public greater access to search and view purchases made by the county.
  • Hosted a Small Business and Veterans Expo, along with the Gulf Coast African American Chamber of Commerce and in conjunction with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
  • With the Gulf Coast African American Chamber of Commerce, Escambia County, Emerald Coast Utilities Authority and the city of Pensacola, hosted a free workshop designed for businesses to establish a working relationship and learn how to do business with local governments.
