  • Escambia County Placed Under Tropical Storm Warning

    Escambia County has been placed under a Tropical Storm Warning for Potential Tropical Cyclone 16, and county officials are encouraging residents to closely monitor weather conditions over the next 36 hours. The latest forecast shows the storm tracking east of the area, with possible tropical storm-force winds arriving Friday evening into Saturday morning.

  • UF/IFAS Extension Annual Peanut Butter Challenge in Full Swing

    If you want to help feed the hungry in Florida’s Panhandle this year, you can donate peanut butter during the annual Peanut Butter Challenge, coordinated by UF/IFAS Extension. Through this annual challenge, food pantries from Pensacola to Monticello will receive thousands of jars of donated peanut butter this December

  • Reminder: BCC to Hold Regular Meeting Thursday, October 17

    The Escambia County Board of Commissioners will hold several meetings Thursday, Oct. 17. The Board of County Commissioners Public Forum will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the BCC Regular Meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. All meetings will take place in the board chambers of the Ernie Lee Magaha Government Building, found on the first floor of 221 Palafox Place.

The office of Community and Media Relations is responsible for coordinating county communications and releasing accurate and timely information to Escambia County residents, the media and board of county commissioners’ employees. CMR acts as a full-service communication office for county departments, assisting with heightening awareness of the county’s mission, programs, policies, initiatives and services in order to foster good relationships with our citizens and media partners. CMR also works in the field during emergencies and is available to the media 24/7.
