  • Statement Regarding EMS Investigation

    Over the past two weeks, the media and residents have asked very appropriate and responsible questions about an ongoing investigation in our EMS Division. It is paramount that Escambia County is responsive to our residents and media partners, and that we meet your expectations for transparency and high-quality service. However, there have been parts of the investigation released that may not tell the whole story. Unfortunately, our inability to respond directly and openly to all questions at this time has left room for rumors and assumptions to be made.

  • Keep Perdido Key Sea Turtle-Friendly

    Escambia County reminds beachgoers to “leave no trace” and turn out the lights this spring and summer, to help keep Perdido Key safe and sea turtle-friendly. May is the beginning of sea turtle nesting season in Florida, with thousands of endangered turtles laying their eggs on Gulf Coast and Atlantic beaches until the season ends October 31.

The office of Community and Media Relations is responsible for coordinating county communications and releasing accurate and timely information to Escambia County residents, the media and board of county commissioners’ employees. CMR acts as a full-service communication office for county departments, assisting with heightening awareness of the county’s mission, programs, policies, initiatives and services in order to foster good relationships with our citizens and media partners. CMR also works in the field during emergencies and is available to the media 24/7.
