Pet-friendly shelter planned for 2009 hurricane season.

Escambia County faces many potential types of disasters – hurricanes, tornados, flooding, lightning, wildfires – and even man-made events such as hazardous materials spills and acts of terrorism. The Public Safety Bureau’s mission to mitigate emergency situations and teach our residents how is to prepare their families, homes and businesses for disaster. History has proven that people prepared for dangerous situations fare better overall  - with fewer injuries and deaths, less property damage and quicker recovery – than those who are not ready for the unexpected.

This web site will help you prepare for and handle emergency situations should they arise. You will also find information on CPR and CERT training to further your disaster education. In the event of an emergency, this site and www.bereadyescambia.com will post the latest on preparations and recovery.
