Office of Public Information and Communications

The Office of Public Information and Communications is the information hub for the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners, county administration and its departments. Our mission is to enhance the relationship between Escambia County government, its citizens and the media through public relations and media relations.

As the liaison for the media, the Office of Public Information and Communications is responsible for addressing questions or inquiries regarding day-to-day and emergency county activities. In addition to producing news releases, reports, newsletters, and the commission's television show, education outreach is a vital function of this office.

The office manages all programming and content for the County's government access channel, ECTV. ECTV can be viewed on Digital Channel 98 on Cox, Brighthouse and Mediacom. The programming schedule for ECTV can be viewed here. The staff is also responsible for producing programming for county departments and broadcasting all meetings of the Board of County Commissioners.

The staff of the Office of Public Information and Communications have won seven awards, including the Grand All Award, the top honor, at the 2007 Northwest Florida Local Image Awards. The Local Option Sales Tax campaign, Hurricane Shopping List and Keep the Wreath Green campaign were recognized for public relations innovation, planning and design excellence.
