Our mission is to develop and administer policies, practices and systems that attract and retain the highest caliber workforce available. In doing so, we will help ensure that the morale, work quality, productivity and customer service skills of all county employees will meet and/or exceed requirements.

About the Division
The Human Resources Division will effectively maintain merit-based employment procedures and develop/implement innovative approaches that continuously improve personnel management and employee support services through the county.

Human Resources Management, Policy and Administration is responsible for the leadership and management of the county’s Human Resources by developing vision, mission and strategic plans to improve recruitment and retention of a quality workforce.

Benefits is responsible for the design/coordination and delivery of the county and other appointing authorities benefits programs.

Employee Relations/EEO administers and monitors policies and regulations as they pertain to all BCC employees. Provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender and national origin.

Employment is responsible for recruiting and hiring quality employees for the BCC.

Human Resources Information Systems coordinates and manages the BCC’s Human Resources Information System. It provides direction in establishing standard operating procedures for the accurate, timely and consistent maintenance of all employee record files.

Training provides comprehensive New Employee Orientation, Supervisory and Management Training, Employee and Career Development for the employees of the BCC.
