Natural Resources Conservation

The mission of the Natural Resources Conservation (NRC) Division is to develop and implement comprehensive programs and provide technical assistance to the citizens of Escambia County for the protection and wise use of soil, water, and related natural resources.

In addition, NRC assists in completing all required Food Security Act works so all Escambia County producers retain their eligibility to participate in USDA programs such as crop insurance, conservation programs, and Farm Service Agency loans.

The division's programs consist of:

  • Technical assistance with erosion concerns
  • Implement USDA's agriculture programs
  • Provide education to citizens and schools
  • Land management/ prescribed burns
  • Promote the County's ecotourism
  • Perform wetland site specifics
