Activities and Lesson Plans for Educators
- EPA, The Quest for Less: A teacher's guide to reducing, reusing, and recycling. Grades K-8.
- FDEP, Solid Choices: Thinking, Learning and Making Decisions About Solid Waste
Note: This project was developed by the University of South Florida; therefore educators will find in the non-Florida documents some references to Florida grade school standards and Florida solid waste management regulations; it was not possible to include standards and regulations for all 50 states.
- Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC)
offers a battery lesson plan to students 10+ that demonstrates how batteries work, explores different types of batteries, explains the need to recycle, and provides battery usage and handling tips. This interactive experiment will utilize their skills in science, mathematics, history, economics, and chemistry.
